The 5 Rights of procurement are: the Right Quality, the Right Quantity, the Right Place, the Right Time and the Right Price. If you are hoping for a radical change in procurement law and tendering processes after Brexit, a move away from tendering towards simple bid proposals and handshakes, you may be disappointed.
The PQQ was replaced by the Selection Questionnaire (SQ) in 2016. The Selection Questionnaire consists of 3 parts, part 1 and part 2 are standard to ALL public sector tenders. Bidders are required to self-declare that none of the exclusion grounds (see part 2 below) have been breached, and that they meet the required selection criteria. Part 3 of the Selection Questionnaire allows the buyer to ask questions specific to the contract.
On 26th March 2019 A&E departments in two London hospitals were saved from closure. Sites at Charing Cross and Ealing were spared after the Health Secretary Matt Hancock axed plans for steep cuts to funding for NHS services across the borough.
In a surprise announcement during questions in the Commons, Matt Hancock told MPs that the proposed closures would not go ahead much to the delight of locals who had protested the plans from the outset. Without radical action, nurse shortages in the UK will double in the next 5 years, whilst General Practitioner (GP) vacancies could almost treble. A focus on the financial support and training of new nurses is believed to be the catalyst to ending the NHS nursing shortage crisis.
