Public procurement expert Naomi Clews discusses what has changed and why this procurement policy note update was necessary.
In 2022 I wrote the blog “£31 billion Government contracts up for grabs” where I was highly critical about the inconsistent approach to the selection criteria used by public procurement organisations and the impact it was having on Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s).
In previous blog posts I’ve also discussed the reasons for a lack of procurement competence as a fear of the unknown, a lack of training and a failure to keep up to date with changes to the procurement legislation.
